July 11, 2011 (Midland) Sharla Hotchkiss, current Keep Midland Beautiful board member, recently was given the Keep Texas Beautiful President's Award by outgoing KTB Chairman John Howard. Sharla became a trainer for KTB in 1990. She served on the KTB Board of Directors for 16 years.
Outgoing KTB President John Howard said of Sharla - "Each board president has the opportunity to give the President’s Award to someone who has worked diligently to help accomplish KTB’s goals. This time, I would like to recognize the winner’s accomplishments this year and for many years".
"I have had the pleasure of working with many great board members but never have I found someone who is more pleasant, talented, helpful and willing to jump in and help wherever and whatever is needed. She has an extensive record of accomplishments, starting even before joining KTB while she worked for the local Keep Midland Beautiful affiliate".
"Sharla Hotchkiss is a wonderful friend to all who work with her. She is a strong ambassador for KTB, making all she meets feel welcome. Her commitment to nonprofits is admirable, and she devotes countless hours to many causes in addition to KTB. This year, she graciously agreed to serve on the Executive Committee. She was our secretary and assisted with parliamentary procedures. Thank you, Sharla, for making this year, and every year, better for KTB".
Johnny Womack with the City of Midland was elected to the Keep Texas Beautiful Board of Directors in June. Mr. Womack was asked to apply for the position earlier this year by the KTB Board. He served on the Keep Midland Beautiful (KMB) Board of Directors for 4 years (2001-2004) and now sits on the KMB Advisory Board of Directors.
