June 17, 2008 (Midland) On Saturday, July 5, 2008 there will be a No Cost Shred Day available to the public at two locations within Midland. These are great opportunities for the public to shred documents that may have personal information that could be used by identity theft. And to realize that the shredded documents are being recycled in to reusable products.
The first opportunity will be from Noon 4 pm at the Midland H.E.B.s parking lot by the recycling containers off Midkiff with Secured Document Shreddings Onsite shred truck providing free shredding service.
Then, beginning at 5:30 pm up to the start of the baseball game, the Secured Documents Shredding team along with the onsite shred truck will offer free onsite shredding to the fans that attend the Rockhounds game.
Once again, both events are at no cost, but there will be a maximum amount allowed per person. Individuals with material for shredding can ONLY bring the equivalent amount of two LETTER sized boxes. This size box is equal to the boxes of paper you buy at the office supply store [approximately: 1.3 cubic feet]
This event is designed to help eliminate the occurrences of Identity Theft and to help bring public awareness to the need for information destruction. We also want the public to know that all post shredded material is recycled [pursuant to N.A.I.D. Standards] which allows us, as Texans, another opportunity to Be Green. Some of the products made with recycled paper are: toilet paper, facial tissues, paper towels, napkins, writing paper, note pads, greeting cards and other stationery supplies.
